# Connect an assistant

> Add your business to Claude or ChatGPT, then test it with a real customer question.

Once your business is set up, you can add it to an AI assistant. Then the assistant can use your real details when someone asks about you.

You do this from your **Dashboard**. The big card at the top always shows your next step.

## What the dashboard asks you to do

The card changes as you go:

| You see | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Bring your business to an assistant** | Your business is not set up yet. | Choose **Add your business**. See [Set up your business](/get-started/set-up-your-business). |
| **Connect your calendar** | Customers can book, but bookings have nowhere to go yet. | Choose **Connect your calendar** and finish the steps. |
| **Finish your connection setup** | Something still needs your attention. | Follow the steps shown on the card. If it stays here, see [Something's not working](/troubleshooting#the-dashboard-says-finish-your-connection-setup-and-stays-there). |
| **Connection unavailable** | Aibuku could not get your connection address right now. | Read the message on the card and try again. |
| **Ready to connect** | Everything is ready. | Choose **Test your connection** and follow the steps below. |

## Add your business to an assistant

Choose **Test your connection**. The card opens the setup steps. Pick your assistant.

        Choose **Add to Claude**. Claude opens in a new tab. Follow Claude's steps to add the connection.

        Start a new chat in Claude and select your business's connection.

        Choose **Copy connection URL**. This is the address ChatGPT uses to reach your business.

        Choose **Open ChatGPT**. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode, open **Plugins**, choose **+**, and enter your business name and the connection address you copied.

      <Step title="Turn it on in a chat">
        Start a new chat in ChatGPT and select your business's connection.
      </Step>

    If you get stuck, choose **ChatGPT setup help** on the dashboard. It opens ChatGPT's own instructions.

## Test it with a customer's question

Under **Ask a customer's question**, Aibuku shows a ready-made question, such as *"What does Willow Lane Salon offer, and how can I get in touch?"*

1. Choose **Copy test question**.
2. Paste it into the chat where your connection is turned on.
3. Read the answer. Check that it shows your real services and contact details.

If something is wrong, choose **Edit business information** and fix it. Then ask again.

<Note>
  Adding the connection is something you do inside Claude or ChatGPT. Aibuku cannot do it for you, and it cannot see whether you have done it. The test question is how you check.
