# Set up your business

> The first steps after you sign up: tell Aibuku about your business, check what it found, and see a rehearsal.

When you sign up, Aibuku walks you through a short setup. It takes a few minutes. You can stop at any step with **I'll finish this later**.

<Note>
  The setup keeps its place only while the page is open. If you leave and come back, you may start again from the first step. Anything you already confirmed is kept.
</Note>

## 1. Choose how you will use Aibuku

The first screen asks **How will you use Aibuku?**

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-start.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=c005023696c7eb340b0e8010e7f9d086" alt="The first setup screen with four choices: For my own business, For my clients, I don't have a website, and Evaluation only." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-start.webp" />
</Frame>

* **For my own business** — you run the business, and it has a website.
* **For my clients** — you are an agency and set up businesses for others.
* **I don't have a website** — you type your details in yourself.
* **Evaluation only** — you only want to see how AI assistants answer about you. Nothing is built for customers. See [Evaluation only](#evaluation-only).

## 2. Give us your website

Under **What's your website?**, type your website address. Tick **I own this site, or I have the right to use its content.** Then choose **Read my site**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-website.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=119b20cc5c4c21276097c871f8ca623f" alt="The website step: a field for your website, a box to confirm you own it, and the Read my site button." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-website.webp" />
</Frame>

Aibuku reads your pages once and fills in your business details from what it finds. You check the result in the next step.

If the read does not work — for example **Your site blocked us.** — choose **Try another address**, or carry on and type the details yourself.

## 3. Check your details

Aibuku shows what it found, under **Is this right?** No website? You see **Tell us about your business** instead, with empty fields.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-by-hand.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=3a4d3fb167a0b63f014663a717fb6ded" alt="The Tell us about your business form, filled in for an example hair salon. On the right, a preview of how the business will look." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-by-hand.webp" />
</Frame>

The fields are:

| Field | What to put in |
| - | - |
| **Name** | Your business name. |
| **Tagline** | One short line about you. |
| **What you do** | What you sell, and who you sell it to. |
| **Category** | The kind of business, such as *Hair salon*. Press Enter after each one. |
| **Venues** | The places you work from, if you have more than one. You can leave this empty. |
| **Services and products** | What you offer. Press Enter after each one. |
| **Website**, **Booking page** | Your web addresses, if you have them. |
| **Opening hours**, **Phone**, **Email**, **Languages** | How and when customers reach you. |

You can leave fields blank and fill them in later. The more you fill in, the better an assistant can answer. The preview on the right updates as you type.

If the logo we found is not yours, choose **Not our logo — remove it**. When everything is right, choose **Looks good**.

## 4. Check what you offer

**What you offer** lists the things an assistant can look up for your customers. Add a price where you have one.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-offerings.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=55e3fa21b2143fc87179e7efaf5f3aeb" alt="The What you offer step, with a list of offerings and, below it, What people can book with a choice of kinds of business." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-offerings.webp" />
</Frame>

If your customers book a time with you, pick the kind of business under **What people can book**. If they don't, skip it.

If we found the wrong things, choose **Not what you sell? Show us where it is.** and point us to the right page. Then choose **Continue**.

## 5. Choose what customers can do

**What people will be able to ask** asks one question: *when a customer wants to go ahead, what happens?*

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-tools.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=fd5e3a1ba40f879934c16876c1b541cb" alt="Five choices for what customers can do: call or come in, just want to know things, ask for a price or send an enquiry, order or buy, and book a time." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-tools.webp" />
</Frame>

Pick the one that fits:

* **They call me or come in**
* **They just want to know things**
* **They ask for a price or send an enquiry**
* **They order or buy**
* **They book a time**

Your answer decides what customers can do in the chat. Choose **Looks good**. Aibuku sets up anything that is still missing.

## 6. Watch the rehearsal and choose a plan

**A rehearsal of what your customers see** shows an example chat with your real details: **A customer asks**, and **The assistant answers**.

<Frame>
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/aibuku/OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms/images/screens/setup-rehearsal.webp?fit=max&auto=format&n=OewFkA-F0KFO1Dms&q=85&s=87de68bc4b85b96925dd5b6ba064c897" alt="The rehearsal: a customer asks when the salon is open, and the assistant answers with its opening hours, phone and email. Below, Choose a plan to continue." width="2880" height="1800" data-path="images/screens/setup-rehearsal.webp" />
</Frame>

* If it looks right, choose **That's me**.
* If something is wrong, choose **Something's off** and fix it.

Then, under **Choose a plan to continue**, pick a plan and add your payment details. Eligible plans include a 7-day trial before paid billing begins. See [Plans and trial](/get-started/plans-and-trial). When you see **Welcome to Aibuku**, choose **Enter Aibuku**.

<Note>
  The rehearsal is staged. Your business details in it are real, but the conversation is an example and nothing is sent. To see a real assistant answer, [connect an assistant](/get-started/connect-an-assistant) and test it.
</Note>

## Evaluation only

An **Evaluation only** project measures how AI assistants answer about your business, using [Visibility](/visibility/overview). It does not build anything for customers. So **Studio**, **Inbox** and **Directories** show a locked example page instead of the real one.

To unlock them, open one of those pages and choose **Turn this into a full project**. If your plan does not include full projects, you see **See plans** instead. Only an admin of the project can do this.

## Add another business later

Open the menu at the top of the sidebar and choose **New project**. Then choose how to begin: **With my website**, **I don't have a website** or **Evaluation only**. The same steps follow.

## Change your details later

Everything you confirmed here can be changed later. On your [Dashboard](/your-business/dashboard), choose **Edit business**.
